I've got an interesting issue and any suggestions or thoughts would be great. I have a 2003 Kubota L35 TLB with 1180 hrs on it.

A few weeks ago I was doing some levee work on our property and I had my oil pressure light pop on and it comes on and stays on once you get to 1900 rpms and higher. Weird. Here is what I have done.

1. - I swapped out my oil pressure sender switch Part # 1A024-39010 === still getting the light

2. - Changed my oil and oil filter. I had been using 15w 40 and a Kubota brand oil filter. The oil and filter only had 20 hours on it but I changed everything anyway. Same oil and Kubota brand filter === still getting the light

3. - I bought a brass t fitting, adapter, copper tubing, and oil pressure gauge. I wanted to see exactly what my oil pressure was doing. I got everything installed and started it up to get a reading on what is going on.

My pressures are as follows:

1000 rpm - 57psi
1500 rpm - 60psi
1800 rpm - 65psi
1900 rpm - 67psi
2000 rpm - 68psi
2200 rpm - 70psi
2500 rpm - 75psi

The light is still coming on at 1900 rpms. As far as I can tell from these pressures, everything is looking good. Here are a couple questions I have.

1 - Does anyone see any issue with those pressure numbers?

2 - Any other ideas why the light could be popping on?

The tractor is running great. I don't see any indications of issues. I recently changed the glow plug relay and controller but this oil pressure light came on before I swapped those out so I don't think there is any relation. Thanks for your thoughts on this...

Are you sure the light that is coming on is engine oil pressure and not hydraulic oil flow?

Great question. I sure hope I didn't do something that stupid. I'll look at my manual when I get home to make sure I didn't mistake the symbol and explanation. Certainly is possible considering I can't find anything wrong.

Is there a Kubota priest in here somewhere? I feel the need to confess...

My name is Matt and I am an idiot.

I went back this evening and looked at my manual. Where it explains the warning lights, I went down to the numbered explanation and realized it is not the oil pressure warning light. I had read the wrong line. That is what I get for being in a hurry. I have been chasing a problem that didn't exist.

Downside: I spent $100 and time chasing a phantom oil pressure problem.

Upside: I now have an oil pressure gauge and I am very happy that I don't have an oil pressure problem...and thanks to Wolfman and L35 I paused to take another look at my manual and didn't keep chasing the problem.

Sheesh.

Well I think I'm as close as it gets around here to a Kubota priest... You are forgiven my son! ;)

So which light did it end up being?
