Just purchased an L35 and I love the tractor but... I can't get the directional valve lever to go from PTO to backhoe. The lever will not move!

In the position it is is in both the PTO and backhoe work properly but, I am worried about damaging the hydraulic system with prolonged backhoe use in this position (is this a realistic concern?). I tried disconnecting the backhoe from the tractor and still can't get the lever to move.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks for the diagram. I guess I was hoping that it was a user error issue and I had to do something before the lever would work. I had already exposed this area and loosened bolt #090 that looked like it was stopping the lever.

Guess the next step is to take it apart.

Get a pair of lock pliers on the lever collar (80) and rotate, or a slight tap with a hammer

DO NOT FORCE IT!
If it doesn't want to move after soaking in rust breaking lube, take it apart, it's an easy fix.

It's a round valve shaft in a round hole, rotate it to free it up, don't drag it out and leave longitudinal scores behind.

I was able to use a 24" breaker bar and a hammer to gently tap on it from below. If you lay down and look up through the open spot on the right side of the tractor, you can see the lever action of that part. I all did was place the breaker bar on that lever portion and tap a few times gently and all good. Not super difficult.... thx for everyone's responses

Good job. Now at some point if you are inclined, order the orings for it and add it to the next maintenance "to do" list, pull it out, clean it up and replace the orings. It may however perform perfectly without doing this!
