After a few month hiatus I am back in the Kubota family. I will be selling my Mahindra, not through any fault of its own, I just found an L35 at a good price and no reason to keep both tractors around. Anyway, I am looking for options to convert the pin-on bucket to SSQA. I have seen several ideas thrown around and want the least expensive/well built option (Horst, WR Long, Kubota, ATI, other?). I have a welder and plasma cutter, but not very much time right now to get into a big fabrication project.

Secondly, I have a 3rd function valve kit that I installed on the Mahindra a few months ago. I could move everything over to the Kubota but WR Long has a $100 "upgrade" for tractors that are beyond 15 GPM so I know that the L35 is beyond that, so I would have to replace the valve, and at that point it is probably just easier to piece a kit together based on what I know now about the kit.

Thoughts?

I don't get what you want to know, fabbing up your own SSQA is cheaper, but you say you don't want to do that, so find one for as cheap as you can to fit it.

Thanks for the response. In case it wasn't clear, I was wondering if anyone else had purchased one of the brands I mentioned and were happy with it or had any recommendations.

While I can't offer any advice I'd sure appreciate it if you post results as to what you figure out with both projects, as they are both on my short list as well!

Cool, if we don't get much here I will try to remember to let you know what I end up doing.

Ok, got it, might have just been me, long tiring day.

If I remember right there is only a couple companies that make the SSQA loader adapter that is a direct fit, and I think the Kubota one is the best fit, as most push the pivot point of the bucket too far out, and you lose lift.

After talking to a Kubota dealer, they had no idea how to get a quick attach for a TL720 loader. It looks like ATI and WR Long are the best bets, the WR Long retails for $745.

As far as the WR Long 3rd function, I am good just swapping it all over from the other tractor. I will have to modify the mount and potentially one of the smaller hoses/fittings but the flow should be fine.

To resurrect a dead post... what ever came of this. I just purchased an L35 and I'm looking to add a SSQD on the front loader. Anyone know if there is a compatible Kubota adapter I can order?

I had a hard on to get the SSQA then lost interest, it comes and goes every year or 2 maybe someday I'll get around to buying one. Always seems like something more important or interesting comes along.......

About the same. Unfortunately, I already have a 3rd function valve, grapple bucket, and forklift attachment so I need to make something happen.

I have decided on the ATI QA though I haven't pulled the trigger yet. W. R. Long is $875 out the door with a 4+ week lead time, plus having to drive to pick it up so $890 or so. The ATI is $915 delivered to the house in about a week. Plus, the ATI is orange, is the original model, and has been out there for a long time. I like W. R. Long but their dealer network always leaves a lot to be desired for products like these.

Finally pulled the trigger, I thought I could live without it but I don't want to sell my grapple bucket or forks, so I might as well put it to use. $950 delivered, I will post pics when it comes in.

I figure I will have the L35 for a long time. It is a beast of a machine. Might start putting it to work and try to make some money with it.

I got everything installed and it is very nice. Two issues.

1) They are default black unless you call and tell them to paint it orange. I didn't know this and it isn't listed anywhere. I figured since they are custom made for a Kubota machine, and all the pictures have them as orange, it was a no-brainer. So mine is black, but it isn't enough of an issue to send it back or anything. All of my attachments are black anyway, so it looks fine.

2) This isn't much of an issue but they ship with the handles in "storage" mode and there was no paperwork in the box that I found. I knew how it was supposed to be installed and figured out what needed to happen with the handles, but after talking to the company the paperwork in the box would have had the information.

It is very well made, things fit easier/better than with my Mahindra tractor I sold last year with the factory quick attach. With it, you had to be dead on for all attachments or the pins wouldn't drop in. With the ATI unit it just better designed and allows for more variables, while still keeping everything tight once the pins are engaged. Shipping was very quick. It went out the first business day after ordering (Ordered on Sunday, shipped on Monday) and arrived in two days from PA. Forddistributing.com is who I ordered from, they are very responsive on the phone and drop shipped it from ATI.

Another note, I was able to modify my W. R. Long valve/handle for my grapple bucket with 40 dollars worth of parts. One new hose and two fittings for the valve block. I modified the bracket, re-ran my wiring, and have it all back up and running after a couple of hours. The kit was originally for my Mahindra.

Looks like a solid piece, do you have your bucket modified to accept the SSQA yet?

No, the TL1754 bucket makes this hard to do. It doesn't have a straight/one angle back but instead has the massive angle shift, 45 - 90 degrees. This will make it where you have to build out something to create a solid back to accept the attachment SSQA frame.

It might just be easier to sell it and purchase a new bucket.
