Hi All-

I am redoing the electrical wiring on the tractor and came across 3 items for which I am at a loss:
1) Backhoe controller fuse
2) "BZ Option" and "OPTION"

As I'm no expert on the use of these machines, what capabilities were these 3 items designed for?
I'd appreciate ya'lls help on this.

From the manual - here are some pictures.
  1. First is the fuse layout.
  2. Second is the "BZ option" - Some accessory for lighting??
  3. Third is the "Option" - Some accessory for the REAR wire harness??

I can’t be of much help but have noticed 2 spare wires in the rear on my tractor that terminate around where the rops attaches to the frame. I’m not close by or I’d take a pic for you.

Yes, the 'option' is a backup switch and buzzer.

That fuse is unused. I've read that some backhoes had an auto-return swing (not sure about the proper name). Maybe they shared some parts between models, or maybe that was an obscure option on the BT900?

Wow! I think ya'll nailed it. Thank you to both of you for busting thru my brain block.

The "option wires" (in the main harness) are long enough to attach to a potential switch on the Glide Shifter (if it were to be placed in reverse).

The BZ makes sense as "buzzer" - here I was thinking it was some kind of implement or attachment.
This will be quite easy to test now that I know what it was supposed to be used for.

The WSM does a fine job of explaining Key on / Key Start in the circuits, but I couldn't find anything on BZ - wow!

L35, thanks as always for your willingness to help!
It is a backup buzzer - makes total sense.
There's just nothing on my tractor like a 4th switch (or buzzer for that matter) so I had nothing to go on.
whew.

Hey no problems.. I was curious I looked at the wsm, not much in there other than similar to what you have.

My wiring is pretty messed up and I have several "open" male/female bullet-type connectors on the rear of the machine. I've nearly completed the main harness wiring and it's testing out OK. I will replace most of the original wiring harnesses to the rear and to the front and will eliminate those open connectors.
For example; one rear connection is actually "Y'd" to the oil pressure sensor and dead-ended at the rear. But the wiring diagram does show it. Could possibly have been something that plugged in for diagnostics.

Seeing the wiring and trying to understand what it was for are sometimes 2 different things!
Honestly, if I had to listen to a backup alarm while working the machine...
