Experienced a problem with right stabilizer on my BT900 backhoe. I applied down pressure and the stabilizer backed right off. I have a pretty good idea I am going to be tearing into my control valve but would like to hear from some experienced users. Everything else works perfectly including left stabilizer

2grit, I have owned an L35 for almost 8 years now. It is a 98 model I bought 2 hand with 325 hours on it. It has about 1065 hours on it now and I've not had the problem you describe. It could be cause by the internal packing in the cylinder going bad. Let us know what you find. Good Luck!

I am not quite sure about what you mean when you say the stabilizer "backs right off". Do you mean that it goes down, but when you try to lift the tractor it looses strength and will not lift it? I think if you describe the problem in more detail you might get more help.

I apply down pressure and it lifts the tractor fine. Let off the lever and the stabilizer does not hold. The weight of the tractor backs the stabilizer off. I hope that clarifies

I finally got over a bad sick spell and had time to tear into this problem. I pulled the control valve out and removed the stem from the control valve. The o-rings looked fine but changed them anyway. Put it all back together and stabilizer is working perfectly
