L345DT Hydraulic problem

Hey everyone. How yall doing. I hope good. I need some help. I got 2 problems.
I got a L345DT with a FEL. 1st problem: My FEL and my 3pt lift just stop working. Here's what happen. I let my brother in law use it Monday to level dirt. Tuesday he calls me to tell me the FEL just stopped working. He said he's been using it for a hour or so and put the bucket down to scoop up dirt and the FEL wouldn't go back up. I told him to check hydraulic fluid, it was low. I gave him some to put in it. Still nothing. I went to check for myself and the FEL nor the 3pt lift would work.
This happen before, so I cleaned the hydraulic screen. It wasn't that bad. 2nd problem: Well when I took the bottom plate off. The screen filter fell in the bucket of hydraulic fluid. I fished it out, and I found a rubber washer, not the o ring in the bottom plate, but a washer and I have no idea where it goes. I look at part diagrams but no luck. I stuck it on where I thought it would go but, I might be wrong.
After cleaning the screen, putting back together, and adding fluid, still not working. The FEL doesn't make any sound like it use to.
My next thought is the pump could of went bad, but can a pump go bad just like that, with no signs, warning, or problem, just stop working. Haven't really worked on a tractor all that much. Any help or info would be appreciated. Thanks

For the hydraulic system problem does it have any type of diverter valve to make one or the other work? It sounds like that valve may be in the middle of selection and neither works,

For the other try looking at Kubota USA website and their illustrated parts list for your tractor model to locate the washers in the area you took apart.

The rubber washer is a gasket. It goes on the open end of the screen. Use a little grease to hold it in place when you put the filter back in the housing. Pumps don't normally just stop working. Sometimes as the pumps get worn they will sometimes lose prime. I would pull the inlet pipe off the pump and dump some hydraulic oil in and see if you can get it to pump. If your power steering is working you know the hydraulic pump is turning as it is on the back of the main pump. Good luck

Thanks for the info. Sorry took so long to reply back, my work schedule has been hectic. I haven't had time to work on the tractor lately. I hope isn't the pump. I've been researching a lot on line. I've been reading that the relief valve could be the problem. I'll post again when I find out something. Thanks again.

On my L345 when fluid got low enough to affect operation, it took a couple gallons to get back up on the dipstick ! After adding fluid, let it idle a couple minutes with the tractor level to clear any air pockets. What kind of "normal" noise did the loader make? Usually mine are quiet. Good luck - Dick B.

I'm trying to find a shop repair manual for the l345dt. There's about 3 or 4 different manuals. Which one is the best one, or is down loading one online better?
I got the hydraulic screen filter cleaned and properly put back together, I put the black washer in wrong, but still nothing
My power steering still works good, so maybe its not my pump. Thanks 007kubotaguy for the info. I'm going to check the relief valve today or tomorrow.
Rbargeron, thanks for the info. I filled the hydraulic oil up to the second line on the dip stick and left running for about 10 minutes. Still nothing. I'm sorry, i meant to say my FEL makes a humming noise sometimes. But it's not doing anything now. If I need to post any pics or anything to help, just let me know. Thanks again everyone.

I have a WSM for the L355ss (pretty close) - haven't found downloads for L345 / L355 models

From your avatar I'm assuming the FEL is powered by internal hydraulics (no separate external pump on the front of your engine).

The main pump for internal hydraulics is on the right side with the power steering pump mounted behind it, driven by its thru- shaft. If power steering still works, the main pump must still be turning. The 3pt and FEL stopping at the same time points to a plumbing problem.

The hydraulic block for the FEL is on the left under the seat. (if yours is different plz post a pic) There is a relief valve right there too. The relief could be stuck open dumping system pressure to the reservoir. It's pretty simple and can be taken apart and cleaned. After its back together run 3pt and fel up and down to clear the air. Thanks again. I got a download for a l245, but I don't think its the same. I'm going to check the relief valve later today or first thing in the morning. Heres a pic of the pump and the relief valve

Thank the Lord. My father in law came over to help me today. We got it fix. It was what I was hoping for. There was air in the lines. We bleed the lines, it took a couple of times, but we got it done. Thank y'all for the info and the help.
