L345 with 1720 loader issues

I am not clear on what you are replacing. You are not going to match the crankshaft spline without a lot of searching if at all.

Sorry I know I’m not very good at explaining. I will get pictures of what I’m talking about. The circled parts are essentially what I’m trying to replace.

Edit: I know there’s no chance to match the splines. The u joint it has on it is keyed that goes on the splined crankshaft. It’s only holding on with a set screw that is screwed into the splines. But it’s worked for the last 15-20 years.

Why cant you use that shaft?

The rest is easy. The two shafts are coupled with a chain coupler like the one I linked earlier.

That is a different type of extension than I have seen also! Is the FEL an aftermarket brand or is it Kubota branded?

it appears there are two cylindrical shafts that are connected together with a chain coupling. Then there are some type of solid couplings at each end (one connected to the pump and one connected to the tractor shaft. I would imagine those two solid couplings are smooth bore with possibly a keyway in the bore. Then a setscrew over each key. Like the ones in the lower left corner of this link. I see they are supplied in inch or mm size bores.

I think its safe to say both shafts have integral (welded) sockets on the ends.

The crankshaft end will be Kubotas standard metric involute spline which is really hard to match.

The pump end is plain bore with keyway. Easily matched

Apparently he is missing the chain coupler. Should be real easy to salvage both shafts and add a $30 off the shelf coupler.. Hard to spend more than $100 to make it good again.
