I picked up an L345 recently for my new property, going over everything, I can't find the dip stick for the pto also it doesn't seem to have any fluid in it? There's an orange/red plug just below the shifter, and it doesn't seem to have any fluid in it. How much should there be on it? How do I drain out what's left, and how to change it out.

Any and all help is appreciated. Everything has been working as it should that i know of,

You can probably never see the fluid.

There are drain plugs on the bottom of the transmission and on the final drive of the rear wheels. There is a vertical canister near the hydraulic pump on the engine. The canister will have pipe (tube) going to it from the transmission case. The filter is inside the canister. Go to tractor data dot com and see what the fluid capacity is. It would use UDT or similar fluid in today’s world so ignore the 80 W that the manual recommended

There may be a level glass or plug on the clutch side near the pedal but not sure for your size tractor

You should have a dip stick right on top of the transmission straight down from the front of the seat. It is very common for them to be broke off or bent from your foot hitting them. It is black rubber.

Welcome to OTT. The L345 is a great tractor - Kubota got established in the US market with it - I bought my first one in 1982. Its very capable - the perfect size for many jobs, not too big, not too small - handles a 6ft rotary cutter.

If your loader is working ok without jerky motion, the fluid level is not too low. Tractors use the transmission as the hydraulic fluid reservoir - around 6 gallons +/- The level is a few inches below that red plug. The capacity is enough to act as a heat-sink for continuous work. Being a gear-type tractor the L345 doesn't require UDT fluid. Regular tractor hydraulic fluid like this costs a lot less and works fine. I've used it in my rigs 40 years. Take care, Dick B
