L3430 turf tyres chains?

Hi, all title kind of says it all, anyone using rear chains without wheel spacers on turf tires on a L3430? Thanks

I had an L3130 with turf tires (355 size rears) and used rubber tire chains for many years with success. My neighbor also has a set on his B9200. We both take care of some very steep driveways and are pleased with the traction, ride quality (much better), tire/inner fender clearance and ease of putting on.

They may not be for everyone, but they exceeded my expectations and would use again.

If you get no specific replies, how much side clearance do you have between the tires and fenders?

In my case on my smaller B2910, I only had about an inch with my R4 tires, and it was not enough all the time, because the chains shifted and ended up sticking out a bit too far at some point, and hitting the fenders slightly.

With turf tires shifting would probably not be an issue. But I would think having more than an inch clearance would be best. All depends on the chains you choose I suppose. I have read that simple ladder chains on turf tires work well.

Thanks 200mph and Henro, I have about an inch and half clearance, also have new ladder chains with the "V" bar, my issue here in NH is ice, now-a-days virtually every storm has rain/ice/ sleet included with snowfall. Have spacers coming, with the chains sort of mounted a 355, it's just too close for me and I can't key and eye on them like front chains.
