I have bought my first tractor so I am very green at this point. One quick question. My L3302DT grinds the gears after I push the clutch in and as I put it in gear. Sometimes it’s very little and some times it’s worse. I’m always stopped completely before shifting. Is this normal?

This is a typical symptom of a clutch not properly adjusted. You should have around 1" of pedal travel before you feel resistance as you continue to depress the pedal. More that that amount of free play will cause a dragging clutch, a clutch which has not completely disengaged the engine from the transmission. Study attached page from Operators' manual

Isnt the Tractor under factory warranty?? Sounds like a job for the dealer.

Yes and only 44 hours. I’ll adjust the clutch and see what happens. The closest Kubota dealer is one hour from me.

Like Dan says, if it's under warranty use the benefit of the warranty when possible.

I would certainly try the adjustment first.

If it's more than a clutch adjustment, will want that on Kubota's radar sooner than later.

I had one. Always some grinding when shifting. I think it's normal. Got a couple 2501's now and they do it also. I cuss them all the time, but it does not help !!! ha ha Adjusted clutches up one side and down the other.....nary a difference.. You can just sit there for awhile with the clutch in and it gets better. I don't want to sit there for awhile...ha ha ha ha Good luck at any rate. They are good tractors. Got rid of the 33 because of computer control....heck with that !
