going to buy my first tractor and have decided on a Kubota. I have narrowed it to a L3301 or a L3901. is the four horse power difference noticeable? I will be using it for a 5ft brush hog and will have an FEL on it to start. am looking forward to getting the tractor so I can start brush hogging and working my 20 acres of land.;)

Basically the same tractor with a difference in HP. Faced with a similar decision last year I chose the one with the greater HP. If you will be working 20 acres I would think you would be glad to have the extra power. Ed B

It his is always tough, and if the tractor was 60 or 64 horse I would say it doesn't matter, but in this size I think it will ne noticeable especially when using the pto

I really don't think I have ever heard anyone complain because they had to much HP, for my money I would go bigger

Go with the extra horsepower. I just bought a L3800HST and I ran out of HP a few times when ripping with a subsoiler. The price difference between the 3301 and 3901 is minimal and you'll always get the difference back on resale.

Welcome to OTT J from Alabama. I agree with the others. I went with the lower HP and have wished I had gone with the L4600 several times.

I'm not sure on the newer models, but there use to be something different with the PTO and I'm thinking that there was something else also, just don't remember. What I do remember is that it was beneficial to go with the higher HP unit and not just for the higher HP.

Good luck with your decision. ;)
