I am a new L 3301 owner. I have been talking to several different people about moving the rear wheels out wider, and I’ve heard pros and cons for both sides. Any thoughts?

I have a L3540 that I moved them out in 2014 so I had room for chains. I have about 700 hours on it since then. No issues.

I have a l2501 and set the wheels to the max tread width.

Pros.
A lot more stable to prevent flipping on it side.
I have very tall hills and felt uneasy several times.
That little bit of extra width make it feel twice as stable. Unbelievable the difference.
Since widening the tires I have never felt unstable.

Cons.
The width is almost as wide as my implements now which makes it more difficult cutting out my tire prints when using my flail mower or box blade or 5,000 pound concrete roller.

The stability is night and day difference.
I would recommend anyone who uses their tractor on anything but a completely flat surface to set the tread width to the maximum specifications on their Kubota machine.

Unless you are only on flat ground- spread the wheels wide and fill them for ballast. More important to do both if you have a FEL. Stay safe. :)

Pardon my ignorance, but this would be for the upgraded rim right? My L2501 has the 1 piece rear rim.

I do recommend some rear filled tires though. It***8217;s amazing how light it is even with loaded tires. Can***8217;t imagine it without.

No this is for the standard rims with r1 tires.
The upgraded rims with industrial tires are one piece and non adjustable.
