My L3301 will not shift into low range. With or without the clutch it will not shift. I have never had a need to use Low Range. I shuffled it but it did not matter. Tractor has 60 hours on it and just returned from a 50 hour inspection. Is there something I am missing?

Pull the shifter toward low gear. While you're holding some pressure on it, move the HST pedal just slightly either forward or reverse. It should go in.

Sometimes I need to move my tractor forward or backward a foot or two before it will go into Low or High. Just the nature of shifting. I guess its something I got use to from gear based transfer cases and various other farm kit.

Same with my L3901,has gotten a little better with 102 hrs on it, good advice from others ,just takes a lot of practice a few choice words and laugh a lot a bad day on a tractor is better than a good day at work

Thanks guys, It worked like a champ. Once I got into low range the first time, there was no problems thereafter. However, I will start in new thread because I could not get the 4WD to engage and I buried the machine. Is it because it is so new (62 hours now)?

Dejavu, same with my L3901, I don't ever take mine out of FWD because it is such a struggle to get it back in,turning the steering wheel from side to side while sitting still usually helps when trying to put it in FWD while pulling on the lever to engage ,really easy to take it out of FWD, haven't tried this on pavement so be careful if you do,hope this helps good luck

Mine is the opposite pops in 4wd no problem, is a bugger to get it to come back out. Usually have to drive while shaking the steering wheel back and forth.
