L3300 oil stick question

Newbie to the forum, first post !!

I recently bought a used late 90s model L3300. It doesn't seem to have an engine oil stick ???? It has a rubber plug just under the alternator but no stick.

I have looked at parts breakdown images and all them show a conventional oil stick. Am I missing something? Someone please guide me on this.

Most of them are on the left side of the block about mid way. Not sure on your model but it has one some where.

Yes, the diagrams I found show it to be on the same side as the alternator. (left side if sitting in the seat) Maybe mine lost the stick and the hole is difficult to see????
The rubber plug just under the alternator is what I would consider the fill point.

The Oil fill plug is in the gear case, the dipstick will be behind that a couple of inches in the block.

I've seen several that hide in the wiring loom.

That rubber plug may be the left over parts of the dipstick.

My L185 has a rubber plug to seal into the dipstick tube

Not to hijack, but anyone know if a different dipstick be available for an L3301? The little rubber grip on mine is for the birds . Like to have a loop to pull.

Buy a new dipstick from the dealer (One that fits your machine). When you get the dipstick, pull the piece out of the hole and insert the new dipstick. You may have to use a bent piece of wire to get the rubber piece out. You'll see what the rubber plug is when you get your new dipstick.

No they do not offer a different one, just bend a loop in the one you have.

The name "gear case" is confusing but yes, that is the rubber plug I mention. Hope I can find the oil stick hiding in the wiring as you suggest.

The rubber plug I mention is about 1" diameter. Directly under the alternator.
I wish I had a picture to show. The tractor is at my property about 35 miles from where I live so I cant "visit" it every weekend

I have seen this at the Messicks site. However I have yet to find where the oil gauge stick goes on my machine.

Could be.

I fully intend to purchase one but want to assure my tractor is not an odd ball design or something.

If it is that large I it would not be the dipstick- especially since NIW STATED it’s some fill plug.

The diameter of the dipstick is around a half inch where it plugs the tube

I suggest when you find it that you paint the outside part a bright color like red or yellow so it is more obvious to find

For ease of use, this is not. I'd wager one from an L3200 would fit a 3301

If there is no stick to your dipstick, there's an issue, pull it out and see if the rubber stopper slides up and down on the stick.

I was able to "visit" my tractors yesterday. I found the oil stick on the 3300. It was lower and in a dark spot with the loop lying over against the engine making it hard to see. It is identical to the one shown in the image in post # 5 above.

There is barely enough to grip, and certainly nothing to bend!. What was Kubota thinking?
For ease of use, this is not. I'd wager one from an L3200 would fit a 3301

I don't think a L3200 will fit or be the right length.

But you could put a cable leash on the dip stick you have now to make it much easier to remove.
