L3300 - difficult to get out of 4x4

I have an L3300 with just over 700 miles.

I have a heck of a time getting it to go out of 4x4 back to 4x2. There is a lever behind my left heel (when sitting on the tractor) that pushes kind of in and out and up and down at the same time. I don't seem to have trouble entering 4x4, but it's a pain to get it to come out and then all of a sudden it will slide out. I used to think that I could roll the tractor or get off and pull it from the side while standing on the ground, but all methods seem to be getting progressively worse.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance, moday

Check underneath the tractor just to make sure nothing is bent. Had an L3400 that was almost impossible to get in an out of 4wd. After checking found the lever underneath the tractor was bent. Disconnect it and straightened with a cheater bar. Put back together and it worked fine. I have an L3240 now and it seems to come out of 4wd easier if you put it in reverse and just ease back a little while pulling up on the lever. Usually, it slides right out.

Driving in 4WD causes driveline windup, and the appropriate method is to back up, reversing the tension on the driveline. All 4WD's work this way. You may have something damaged, but if you aren't reversing your direction a little, then it will be tight to get out of 4WD. Just the law of physics.
