Hello. I'm considering buying a L3200 2WD with 326 hours for $7K. I would use it primarily for shredding grass. My tractor is old so I dont know much about the newer ones. Anything good or bad about this model? Is $7K a fair price?
Thanks!

Hours and price is reasonable.

Just note: 2wd Kubota's have the lowest resale value of all the models.

Are there any L3200 owners that can chime in? Good machine? Likes? Dislikes? thanks.
If it helps, I have less HP but basically the same tractor, L2800.

I sometime will disengage the 4x4 to mow so not so far off. I like removing the FEL when I mow, I assume for $7k that you do not have a FEL. If you have pretty flat and dry land, the L3200 might work for you. Does it have AG tires? or turf? What are you trying to cut? Lawn or pasture?

I run a 5 foot shredder and 6 foot finishing mower, both with no problems. I do have hills and need 4x4 on some parts. It really will depend on your property. Also, I take it slow, it's not a race car, it's a tractor....

How tall are you planning to cut? or how often?

It has ag tires and I'll be shredding 12 acres about 3 times/year with a 6' shredder and its pretty flat. No FEL. I currently do it with a 2WD L2600 but its starting to show its age. I'm really just wondering if the L3200 is good machine or if there are any known issues? Thanks again

Ive had my 3200 since it was basically new (12hrs on it when I got it), only around 220 hrs on it now over the three years I have had it, but no issues with it to speak of.

I believe all the 2wd versions are gear drive, so one thing to note with you mowing with it, it does not have a live PTO. Any time you need to shift between forward and reverse for mowing it will disengage the PTO as well. Mine is 4wd but gear shift, I have got used to the PTO and its not a huge deal especially if you don’t need to make a lot of directional changes while mowing.

I take it you are using the 6 ft bush hog on the 2600? I run a 5 ft on mine and use it like a finish mower. I can bog mine down with the 5 ft but I also mow pretty fast with it (usually in high range 1st or 2nd gear, sometimes low range in 4th).

Yes, I was planning on buying a 6' bush hog. Mine is a 5' and I'd like to go bigger. Thats why im considering the L3200. According to the bush hog website the L2600 has just enough power. Would you agree?

I would think 6 ft would be pretty slow going if you are only mowing a few times a year.

Not enough horsepower?
The L3200 has 26 pto hp, which if you stick with the general 5 hp per foot rule would leave you with the 5 ft bush hog. I can only speak from my experience with the 5 ft that I can bog the tractor in thick grass about 8-10 inches tall, but I am also mowing with it set as low as it will go. My suggestion would be if you get the tractor is to use the 5 ft you currently have and see how it performs in your conditions and go from there. Another thing is you will want front weights on the tractor. I usually remove the loader from mine when I mow and the front end gets pretty light, I use the split brakes to help steer it at times.

Good advice, thanks. Sounds like I should stick with the 5' shredder.

No problem. And as far as the tractor itself I don’t have any complaints (I got mine unexpectedly and for the right price ;)). It was bought in 2014 I believe, I got it in 2017 and it had 12 hrs. Only thing I have done to it is change oil every spring, I replace the fuel and air filter to every spring. Ive changed hydraulic fluid and filter on it. Its the last L series in that hp range without the emissions so I would expect it to last a long time given its still a mechanical engine.

Thanks again for the good info. So the 2013 L3200 doesnt have any emissions? I thought anything over 25 hp had something. Not doubting you, I'd just like to know what Im buying. Thanks!

No emission equipment on it.
