My L3200 has 4 hours on it and began to knock loudly today. It is coming from the engine and seems to be toward the front. no smoking, missing, and no unususal guage readings. starts easy and runs strong. knock increases,decreases with engine speed, but is not constant. oil level full. Heavy metallic knock.

Yup, phone the dealer and tell them to send a truck to load it up. I wouldn't start it again until the truck is there.
It could be a hard part like a rod, or more likely, it could be an injector staying open. Like it was said, don't run it, call the dealer, let that warranty that you paid for give you some money back.

Sorry about it taking so long to post what the problem was with the knocking, but it turned out to be loose bolts on the fan to water pump. The dealer, Lanford Equipment in Marble falls TX., did an outstanding job of coming right over, 50 miles, and picking the tractor up and bringing it back once it was fixed. Hopefully no one else has this knocking problem, but if so, at least it will be a place to start.
