I have 2002 L3010 - manual transmission, and fluid is leaking from the mid-PTO. I think it's the seal, but if someone has a quick fix I would love to hear it. If not, is it a tough job to change the seal? I did a search on the forum and in YouTube but couldn't find anything. I am hoping I can just buy the parts, take it apart, replace the seal and put it back together again. Thanks

Never mind, it seems to have stopped leaking. I also greased up both the mid and the rear pro to see if keeping it lubricated stops it from ongoing leaking. I'll keep you posted.

I am looking at purchasing a L3010 with manual tranny that has 700 hours on it. For a twelve year old tractor it has not been thrashed, overall in pretty good shape. The price is 12k. I would be interested in your experience with your 3010. Thanks,

Rowdy, I have a '99 L3010 with GST shifting vs manual and a loader with heavy duty round back bucket, R4 tires and some extra work lights. I have 1150 hours on it with the only issue ever being some goofy thing with the glow plug indicator light on the dash (relay or sensor probably). It sometimes stays on longer than it should or comes on while operating and goes off whenever it feels like it. Sometimes it will function normally for weeks in between. I had a tree cutter in to drop some trees and his skidsteer with grapples kept getting stuck. We used the L3010 to drag some big logs out and he was amazed at what I was doing with a tractor this size. He was so impressed that he was looking for one last time I talked to him.
No mechanical issues. I did some pricing while reviewing my insurance policies this spring and figured 15K for value on my tractor. Watch out for rental units. I've seen some with low hours but high abuse for sale.

I am really happy with my L3010. I got it with only 150 hours on it and I only have about 350 now, so it doesn't get used all that much. It does everything I ask of it and I have had no problems, apart from this annoying leak at the mid-PTO. I am now wondering if it might be leaking because I overfilled it - the oil level is almost at the top of the bubble guage. I would buy another one. Hope this helps - sorry it wasn't more timely.
