Hello I am new to this forum but I hope somebody here can give me some information. I have a 2007 L2800 HST 4WD with 99 hours on it. (Yes I do not use it alot but when I do it takes the work out of working). I was doing the 100 hour replace of all my fluids and filters and found a problem.

As I was under my tractor I noticed one of the brake linkage bent. Apparently that caused one brake to ware out to the point that I do not have any pedal at all on that side.

I went to our local Kubota dealer and ordered the brake discs (2 for each side) and linkage bar. The parts will be here in a few days. I plan on doing the repair this weekend. What I want to know is does anybody here have any info that could help me? What I mean is is there anything special I need to know before I take apart one side of the tractor? Is there any special procedure to removing and installing the axle or installing the brake disc that I need to know?

I do autobody repair for a living and have taken apart and put together thousands of cars in my life but I have never taken apart a tractor rear end. I only want to do this one time and I don't want to miss something.

If anybody here has any experience replacing the brakes on a L2800 HST I would love to hear from you.

Thank You

It's not too bad to do. Hardest part-as I recall-is getting the old liquid gasket off and out of the channel. Upon reassembly, I find it beneficial to use the Ultra Grey sealant-as it hardens up. Downside is that you don't have a lot of time to assemble as it sets up a little faster than regular silicone does. I also like to paint the joint after reassembly, just makes for a more complete repair, IMO.
