As the weather has moderated I have started to do a bit of maintenance on my recent purchase, a L275DT. It has about 1,800 hours as best I can tell. I'm working at replacing the tachometer, wire check and decompression cables. All of them are unmovable.
The next chore is to figure out why the rear PTO will not engage. The PTO shaft simply free wheels by hand and will not engage when I engage the PTO engagement lever. There also appears to be no gear meshing sounds when I move the lever to engage the PTO. Who can steer me to a sensible series of steps to figure this out? I presently have no need to use the PTO, but I would like to get it working.
