I'm sure this has been asked before, however a quick search failed to net results.

Has anyone replaced a failed new style fan shaft bearing? If so, could you share the bearing part number? Thx in advance, KT

The bearing can not be replaced, The shaft and the bearing are one unit.

Sorry Wolfman, I should have offered more details in my OP. The bearing failed in the middle of a project (they seldom fail just sitting, do they? lol) so I was looking for a quick fix. I found the assy online, however I prefer not to wait +/- a week for it to arrive.

Upon a quick inspection, it appeared one could replace the bearing by:
1) Grounding off the flange weld, replacing the bearing, then re-weld.
2) Cutting the shaft in half, replace the bearing, then re-weld.

KT, what you're describing as a fix should work fine if you have those tools and skills. Just take the bad bearing to Bearing Headquarters, or similar supplier.

Show us some pictures.

If you cut a shaft in two, here's a method to weld it. But this requires additional length of material to provide for the offset weld, but it gives a lot more strength then a straight cut that's welded back together. In your situation removing the flange and re-welding would probably be a better solution.

Grinding off the weld and then reassembling would be the best choice, just make sure you get it back on strait! ;)
