Buddy has a relatively new L2501 with approximately 15 hours on it. He was using it today and he said while at idle it would do what he described as a "hiccup" and then die. It would immediately restart and run and idle normally for a period of time before repeating the same issue. He said it "hiccuped" about five times and died two times. He also said that when advanced above idle, it responded and ran normally. He said there is no evidence of a fuel leak and the water separator is free of water and that he only uses good fuel from a clean container. Any ideas on what may be happening before calling the dealer, as it's under warranty, but if it's something simple, we can handle it. Thanks

Replace the fuel filter. Do not go by looks alone. Nor how many hours are on that filter sometimes the filters are bad But look brand new.

I know it is very unlikely. Any chance he has the pto engaged and shifting his weight or standing up causing the operator presence control seat switch to activate?

That's what I told him was most suspect.

No. He was not on the tractor when it happened.

Sounds like an OPC issue to me. If he is not in the seat and the.tractor moves or tje HSTVpedal is movef it wiil shut off.

If this only happens when he is not seated make sure to solidly set the parking brake and check the neutral position adjustment on the HST pedal.
