I was wanting to use a clevis on my L2501 drawbar but it doesn't seem to be able to accept the normal choices available when it comes to clevises. My drawbar is roughly 1.25" thick with a 3/4 hole. If I choose a clevis that's wide enough to fit the drawbar it comes with a 7/8 pin which doesn't fit the hole. If I choose a clevis with a 3/4" pin it isn't wide enough to fit the bar. I have found drawbar hooks but I'm wondering what other options are available? What do you use?

I ran into the same situation with my L2501. I had a clevis with a 3/4 inch pin that screws into the one side of the clevis. If I remember correctly I only had to remove about .050 or so from the inside portions of the clevis to allow it to fit the drawbar. I used my 2 x 72 inch belt grinder to remove the material. Its my belief that the small amount of material I removed did not significantly reduce the strength of the clevis.

How much of a difference is there between the 1.25 inch thick drawbar and the inside dimension of your clevis?

The Crosby shackle's I was looking at had an I.D. of slightly more then an inch so you'd have to remove quite a bit of material.

First check with your dealer and see if they have one. Second a little googling and this showed up.

Replace the bolt with a hitch pin if you want. Part # M7151P
Thanks for the link. That shackle has an I.D. of 2.25" which would have an extra inch of clearance. I was hoping for a tighter fit. I will check with the dealer but they are about a 45 min drive and I was hoping to find something I could order on line.

I also had to remove a tiny bit of material from the clevis to fit my draw bar.

I then ended up going with a Koch draw bar hook instead.

I came to ask this question -thanks for having already done so and for finding the answer.
