The tractor does not have a vertical stack. Not sure why you are saying the part # does not fit a L2501. it is the first three models listed.

I don't doubt that at all. I just posted an image after a search. BUT the exhaust pipe seems to exit the same as other images of L2501 tractors I found on line.
This might help you out. I am not sure either about the notion of a vertical exhaust stack.

The whole reason for my curiosity is I figured with a vertical stack the damage described by the OP would be easily understandable.

BUT all the pictures of L2501s that I have found shows the exhaust in a fairly well protected position, Especially if moving backwards...

the picture in #1 didn't show the entire muffler.....
I never assume the tractor that needs the part IS the same as in the profile (some actually own more, others could be working on a neighbours, or tractor is a 'variation' of a model....)
#43 shows the muffler...yikes a $666 !

That was the one L2501 tractor listed to use that part. BUT the OP lists his as a L2501DT, which is different than the L2501D. EXCEPT that the screen that appeared when I clicked on the link Jay had posted, called out the tractor (L2501D) with on less letter on the end, and specifically called it a 2WD tractor with folding rops.

So I GUESS the OP really has the L2501D and not the DT he listed as the tractor he owns.

End of story? Probably...hopefully the OP will report back so I can sleep at night again...LOL,,,

I feel comparatively fortunate!
I don't need it yet, but......
Messick's shows only $242.66 for a new muffler for my L48 TLB.
Yippie !!!

Not to beat a dead horse, lol, but Messicks lists 3 L2501's that fit this exhaust manifold.

L2501F. 2wd with foldable ROPS
L2501d 4wd with foldable ROPS
L2501H. 4wd HST with foldable ROPS

I have no clue what the difference is between a L2501D and L2501H. Heck for all I know , these letter designations may not conform 100% to Kubota's letter system.

Guess I got cheated, the bums. In 1962 I was paid 50 cents an hour to drive survey stakes in a cotton field, which soon became a housing development.

Back in the late ‘70s my brother and I worked for a not so old farmer for a day. He asked us how much we wanted. We said $5. Yup we got $5 to split.

Later on we heard about minimum wage. It was $3.35/hr. That’s about $10.45 today. Gas was less than a buck a gallon.

What puzzles me is the L2501DT is missing from that list. And that is what the OP lists as his tractor. Could be a simple typo…OP, where are you?

I think this thread caught my attention because there was a time a couple years ago when I was thinking about replacing my B 2910 with an L 2501.

Not protected enough! 😔

The muffler pipe exits on the bottom.

Got the parts in and got it replaced. Went so fast and smooth that it didn't even seem right!

Looks like the manifold was broken in two places also.
