I’ve had my L2501 for a couple years now, but this is the first time I’ve had what I believe is my air filter clog up from blowing snow. Does anyone have a good way of keeping snow out of the air filter on this tractor model?

I was plowing my road covered in 2 feet of snow with light fluffy stuff coming over the top of the front blade this morning. When I went out this afternoon for the second plowing session the motor was acting like the filter was clogged (sputtering under load at max throttle, plus lots of black exhaust).

Did you pull the filter and check it? If the paper filter got wet I wouldnt run the tractor again until it was replaced. Also consider getting the inner filter if you have not done so already. The wet paper outer filter can come apart and be injested in the engine. Im not in a snow region but any sort of front grille cover should help. Panty hose over the intake until you can get a more permanent fix.
