L245HC hydraulic pump creating vacuum on pick up side

Hello All ,
We just purchased a Kubota L245HC. The lifts were stuck in the up position.
simple the linkage for the up position was mangled. Replaced worked fine. Drained all fluids and refilled. we are now having an issue with the hydraulic
lift not working then working. I opened the block in front of the control knob under the seat and had no flow. I then removed the pick up line on top of the pump and found that there was a extreme vacuum on that side of the pump we released the vacuum then blew back up into the tranny. air went back into the tranny . started it back up and the lift several time like it should then vacuum locked again. I pulled the connection block at the side of the tranny and had the tractor sitting down hill to reduce the amount of fluid I would have to drain there is no screen there. but also there was not much fluid coming out. any ideas would be greatly appreciated .

Look on the other side, inline with the hydraulic fitting, there is a cover with a single bolt holding it in pull it and pull the filter.

Thanks wolfman I just came across an article about that very screen. Awesome I will pull it Saturday. we bought two tractor and full service on both we have learned a lot so far. ford 8n and this Kubota. had to replace the oring in the fords lift cylinder. And now this one. hopefully this is the answer I will let you know. thanks again
