I recently replaced an aftermarket steer box on my l245dt. I cant get the full steering throw to the left, but the right goes all the way. Is there a middle on the steering box you must find before you attach the pitman arm to get the required throw both ways? Thought I'd ask before i tore it apart again.

Did you get the steering arm put back in the right position on the new steering box? You should have a scribed mark across the end of the steering shaft to line up the arm with. It may be that the aftermarket box does not have that.

If you don't have the marks.
Take the pitman arm off.
Turn the wheel to one stop, then the other, counting the turns of the wheel.
Then divide that in half.
Then with the front wheels straight, reinstall the pitman arm.

I did the same thing! Just replaced the steering box but it would only turn right. After I thought about it a little bit I figured it out. Any idea what the torque specs for the pitman arm nut and the tie rod nut is?
