Hi guys, I have a 1975 L245DT. The tractor moves only very slowly under power on a level surface. If it is on even a slight incline it will not move forward nor will it move backward up an incline. The engine is running fine.
I have adjusted the clutch, changed the trans/hydraulic fluid and cleaned the filter. Any suggestions?
Thanks

If the tractor is HST you may have overlooked a filter or strainer screen. If is a standard transmission your clutch may be slipping. Adjustment may fix it.

If you adjusted your clutch and no difference was made, you're probably in for a clutch replacement. You'll need to then separate your tractor, and when/if you do replace the clutch disc, pressure plate, throw out bearing, pilot bushing. Then you can stay out of there for YEARS!

DT is geared and the clutch has been adjusted. IIRC, power to the PTO goes through the clutch on that one, so you could test the clutch with a PTO powered implement if you have one.

ditto on replacing the clutch, few notes
make sure you get the clutch disk in the right way, it is marked on the disk.
You will need a alignment tool. May ask the dealer if he has a old main shaft.
If you have a loader on that is half the work.
Good luck
