Voltage output is 16.8 volts. I replaced regulator, voltage the same 16.8. Any ideas. New regulator direct from Kubota.

No just around house. Just had clutch put in, shop said it was over charging. I thought i would replace regulator. not the problem. New battery last week, fully charged. need to get thing going to start clean up around here.

Some sort of wiring issue, grounding of regulator circuit maybe, only thing that controls voltage is the regulator. Are you sure your meter is correct? Check fuses and battery connections, does this unit have an alternator or dynamo?

With a dynamo the regulator rectifies and controls the voltage output (except where they have a separate rectifier).
With an alternator, the regulator controls the excitation winding of the alternator to set the voltage generally at the output terminal of the alternator, or elsewhere if externally sensed. I don't have your circuit info, but if it is an alternator which i suspect it is, then the regulator is not limiting the excitation, so you may have a broken wire or bad connection on the connections at the back of the alternator, between the alt and reg, or grounding issue at the reg etc. Check to ensure you have a functioning lamp, and fuse in circuit as well. If it is externally sensed and it looses its sense then it will output high, which yours sounds like it is doing.

wires all clean. checked output at alternator and it is 18.3. regulator only reduces it to 16.2. do you know what the max output from alternator should be? from what i have reads looks like 15+.

How many wires in the plug on the back of the alternator?
Can you check colors and meter them (check for continuity) to the regulator?
Do you have a manual with wiring diagram for this tractor?
So the regulator fuse and charge lamp are good?
The new regulator (if it is the correct one) is not controlling the alternator output, so I expect a wiring problem somewhere, either no sense voltage or a missing ground.

I think there's a regulator relay on the 2350's....and IIRC I've seen one or two over the years give some troubles, causing overcharge situation. Worth looking into.

Also have seen wiring harness issues cause same problems.

You have your work cut out for you, especially if you're electrically challenged as I am. I can figure these things out but it takes me a while...and also requires a WSM and wiring diagram.

If this is happening since clutch repair then i would take a close look for a damaged /disconnected/pinched wire. Things needed to be removed to do cluthc.
