l2202m stuck gearbox

found a l2202m for 1.2K, has a loader and running engine but the gearbox is stuck (wont freewheel). im heavily considering buying it but wanted to ask either, what would be required to fix it roughly? would it be better to hire a mechanic or just do it myself, since i have experience with mechanical stuff, just not tractor transmissons specifically. would this be a PIA repair or something thats fairly simple?

It’s possible your problem is as simple as this. You won’t know until you at least pull the cover. Not sure what parts availability is like for this model.

hmm, maybe the shift forks are worn and 'locked' tranny into 2 and 3rd.

I'd have thought someone would have lifted the top cover off to remove shifter+forks.

it could be a 20 minute fix to make it run fine.....

Your tractor is a grey market tractor and isn’t recognized by US dealers or parts manuals. There may or may not be a US market cross model.
