I've got an old L2050. The Hydraulics are going crazy. I'm pretty sure I caused the issue as I ran the hydro oil way low. NOW I'M SCREWED! I'm trying to figure out where and how to check the filter. My local shop is helpful, but not as helpful as needed. Tried to find the thing on the kubota pad site, but no luck. I am far from mechanically inclined. any help would be great. thanks!!!!!

Without knowing more information it is hard to try and diagnose online. Not sure exactly what "hydraulics going crazy" means.. A better explanation of symptoms is necessary in order to come to some conclusions. Even a video of what is going on would help.

When the engine is running there is a very loud squeal. the hydraulics are jumpy if they work at all. I think i've been able to locate the filter, albeit its only on the diagram haven't been able to find it on the machine yet. I'm going to try and drain and clean that filter, and refill. i'm praying i haven't toasted the hydro pump as kubota is quoting me $800 for a new pump.

i bled the lines in attempts to get any air out, but only got oil. after doing that the tractor ran great for about 5 minutes. then went back to squealing and hydros not wanting to cooperate. the shop, which of course wants business, is telling me without looking at it the pump is shot. trying everything i can do prior to sending it there.

More facts on your tractor are needed.

Do you have a loader?

When you talk about "jumpy" are you referring to the forward and backward movement of the tractor. Your tractor only has a simple manual gearbox.

Is it the movement of the 3 pt hitch?

Your tractor could have power steering. Does it and if it does how is it working.

Were the lines you bled steel pipes or rubber hoses?

Here is where the filter is.

Clean or replace filter.
It could be the feedback linkage for the three point is maladjusted.

And here is a cheaper option for the pump:

Make sure to check all the rubber junctions at the suction line(larger line). Air ingress is common.

Perhaps you could let us know what happened after you drained and refilled and changed the filter?
