Last time I used the L2050 the hydraulics were slow to rise. Now won't rise at all. The speed control knob was frozen, I have fixed this. I loosed the hydraulic connection and fluid is being pumped. Could the strainer being stopped up cause the hydraulics to stop raising or can you lead me in the right direction.

Thanks for all of your help.

I bought the tractor approx 6 months ago. I have not changed the fluid but I know it has plenty of fluid. I was going to change the fluid this weekend. Thanks for your reply.

How cold is it, how long did you let the tractor run. If there is water in your hydraulic fluid and its cold, it kind of becomes a sludge. If your going to change the fluid get it good and hot first and then drain it. If it looks Milky it had water in it. Good Luck.

Changed the fluid today. The stainer was gummed up bad. I cleaned the strainer. Started the tractor and the hydraulics lifted with no problems. Go all the way to the top and will not lower, although I do not have anything connected to the 3 pt hitch. I am going to get a new strainer because that one was in such bad shape. could this stop the arms from lowering?

Thanks

if you do not have any weight on the 3pt, it could not lower depending on how stiff it is or isn't. Have you tried standing on it and lowering to see if it goes down?

also replacing the stainer filter is a great place to start. You can clean these, but the last one I changed only cost me $15 which was a lot cheaper then my time wasted trying to clean the old one.
