My Japanese built L2000DT has developed a transmission issue where oil is spilling through the filler cap breather hole whenever the 4in1 bucket is lowered, closed and tilted. I have attached photographs of this area. Also when I try to refill the transmission the oil does not flow but instead just sits in the filler. Any suggestions would be appreciated 20220405_154051.jpg 20220405_154058.jpg 20220405_154103.jpg

Since you have not gotten any responses so far...

Could water have got in the system somehow. Oil floats on water, so it might not be apparent. BUT I would think the water would be mixed pretty good with the oil, after passing through the hydraulic pump. So the oil should look milky if that were the case.

Is the transmission and hydraulic system separate on a geared tractor? I suppose not, but do not know. Lowering the loader bucket would return fluid to the tank (perhaps only a little though, whatever the cylinder rod displaces going into the cylinder), which if the tank was close to overfull for whatever reason, might cause oil to be expelled.

Why were you adding oil if oil was being forced out of the tank?

Sorry not helping much...

Looks like it's over full on fluid.
Have you tried drain fluid out?
Pull the line off the adapter and then then remove the adapter to see if it's got something plugging it up.

Appreciate the response. I was adding more oil to replace the amount that leaked as the steering and gear change seemed to be affected by the loss of oil. The tractor had been running for a full day before this leakage started.

Appreciate the response. I am reasonably sure it isn't an oil level issue as the tractor had been running for a full day before the leaking has started.

Did you pull the other side plug?
Oil just just be up to that.

Not sure on that model if it has another vent or not, some are under the seat and some are on the top of the rear cover, and others are off the top side of the left rear axle case.
Look to see if it has that vent and if it does make sure it's clear.

Normally when you use that adapter you don't want a vented cap like you have, see if there is a second cap behind the seat or on the rear of the tractor or sometimes just forward of that cap.
