Didn’t have my manual yet when I pulled my engine apart and assumed since the crank didn’t have a dowel that it had offset holes. After reading the manual seems like it doesn’t. Anyone have advice aligning it compared to the key for the balancer

You will need to set the flywheel in place and begin the bolt by ONLY hand tightening them. If one offers resistance remove the bolts that are starting and rotate the flywheel one set of holes and repeat the process. Do NOT use a wrench until all the bolts are in finger tight. Then you can torque them.

The flywheel only fits on in one position and you have to find it (if not marked when removed),

So the manual is wrong saying they are evenly spaced? I don't have it off the engine stand yet so haven't tried yet
