Hi,

I have a L1802DT. Does anyone know how many drain bolts I should be looking for when I want to drain/change the hydraulic fluid?

Also, does anyone know where I can find a manual for this model?

On most models of this era, there will be one or two on the main clutch case and one on each axle housing.

There is no OPS or WSM (aka service manual) for that model that I've ever seen. :(

And sorry, none of the US models are close to the same to be able to use their manuals.

Many thanks for your response. It's a big help. There are so many nuts under there that look like drain plugs. I'll stick to the ones you suggested. Cheers A

When you confirm which ones are drain plugs, you might clean them real clean and give them a shot of red paint, or a coating of a bright fingernail polish.

Thanks for the tip. I painted the hydraulic ones red now. I ended up accidentally draining the engine oil (probably needed it anyway), and the diff oil from the front axle. Now I know which is which, I won't make that mistake again! Thanks to you both for your help.

Cheers,

A

FYI:
For the front axle you can use the same fluid as the main hydraulic system.

Also on the front axle, some models also have three drain plugs, and also three fill points for the front axle.

Thanks Wolfman. I was just about to ask the question about whether to use hydro fluid or another oil. I'll take your advice and use the hydro.

Also, as you pointed out, I see three plugs near either wheel on the front axle. I took each of the three off, but only got oil out of the bottom one. I'll top up using the other two.

Thanks again,

Hi there, I have a L1802DT also but had a similar hydro question. (I also don't happen to know a whole lot about tractors if I am being honest) I have a badly leaking unit that I can't see how to fix. Is there somewhere they can be purchased, I don't have a manual so not sure what the part name is. Thanks in advance for any suggestions, I have just been continuing to fill up gearbox oil to keep it working for now but leak is getting pretty bad.
