L175 Question on Sway Chains and Adjustable Side Link

Hello,

I've been searching to see what the dimensions are for my sway chains and my adjustable side link to my 1976 L175 Kubota tractor. Here is a picture of the parts....

Need to replace these parts and trying to find them cheaper then the $234.00 for the lift rod and $260.00 for the chains ...

Any help greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

I don't know about the side link, but for the turnbuckles- you need a minimum length of 15", to at least 18"- 3 inches of adjustment.

You might find this side link to be a great improvement over the factory Kubota part, if it'll fit-

I adapted one on my John Deere (I sleeved the top bore to fit the pin on the top lift arm), and it is a much better solution.

My sway chains on the l1500 need to be even shorter for some reason. These were the closest I could find but I still need to remove one link.

Hoye also has the replacement adj side link for cheap but it’s slightly angled not straight. Haven’t put it on yet to see if it would work.

Stabilizers vary in length quite a bit, between models. I know that the measurements I supplied are correct for an L185, which should be the same as the 175.

I measured mine on my L1500, which should be the same as the L175
I am 99% sure mine are the stock ones for the L1500 and/or L175

ADJUSTABLE SIDE LINK
14.75" to 21.50"

SWAY CHAINS
10.25"-12.50"

xmikew is correct my "stock" ones only have one chain link on each end.

Hoye also has the replacement adj side link for cheap but it’s slightly angled not straight.

The "stock" L1500 Adjustable Side Link is also angled, however,
it is the ball and socket end not the lower end as in the Hoye model.

(weather or not the L185 is also the same I do not know,
but based on the following part numbers I think they are different)

While this is not "cast in stone" the L175 and L1500 part numbers
are very similar, just formatted differently due to one being
Japanese only ie. 99511-22512 and 995112-251-1

So basically, both of these should work fine on a L175;

Good info bill. I wonder if the l175 has the same setup for the side links. I just went out and tried to put the hoye adjustable side link on but the angle on the ball and socket of the original gets just enough clearance for the pin to go in. Can’t get the pin in with the hoye. Not sure if I can adjust it out a little or I might have to grind a little off the side of the hoye side link.

If your l175 has the same look just know you might have to make some adjustments for that hoye side link.

are larger than the stock Kubota setup.

So I don’t recommend the hoye sidelink unless you can reinforce the weld. It’s just spot welded. It broke on the second turn with my brush hog on. Had to put the old one back on.

Also on the pin not fitting.... I had the wrong pin in my hand. The smaller diameter lynch pin fit with a little persuasion. The pin in the image was for the three point arm. Oops.

I measured mine and it is 1.50" across, I did have to "repair" it.
when I got the tractor I was stuck with this......

I got a new end from Tractor Supply and welded it on at the correct angle,
but I did have to trim it by 0.1875" to get it down to the 1.50" so the pin would go.
I am guessing the originals may have been a metric size?

I did order the sway chains and the adjustable link from Hoye tractor parts ... Had to remove one link for the sway chains to work ( no prob though) .. we haven't put the adjustable sidelink on yet ... having the weld reinforced in hopes that it won't break..

Now in search for a top link that will work ...

I have an L175 I can measure this for ya - best if we talk on the phone while we're both in front, er, behind our tractors.

I'll be selling it soon...but ti's all 100% original if you need pics, measurements, etc let me know (pm maybe?)
