Can some of you l175 owners out there tell me the mower models you are using? I have a new-to-me image.jpg l175 with a fel on it and need to cut about 3 acres. Everyone has an opinion on what it will handle but what have you guys used or seen used that actually worked? Right now I'm looking at a couple woods rm59s and a land pride at2560. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dave

Easiest option is to put a rear mount finishing mower on it. Alot faster to hook up and dismount and put another toy on. A 5 foot finish mower would be ideal

So that at2560 land pride 5 foot finish mower would be ok? Land pride lists its weight at almost 650. I was just afraid of it being too heavy. Thanks again

Don't know no Edward. Lol Weight wise, I was worried about the limit for the three point hitch since i haven't been able to find a max lift limit for it.

I used a 5' bush hog behind my L185 for 30 years. In really light grass I could do 4th gear, normally 3rd gear, going down to 2nd for heavy grass or 1st when the grass was Really heavy. I was a fool, most of the time running 1000 PTO speed. At 540 PTO I probably could have done 2nd, 3rd and 4th. As it was, it took a day and a half or two days to do 10 acres.
The real truth is that the 5' bush hog was too big. The tractor only put out about 13-1/2 PTO horses, not a whole lot to drive the bush hog and the ton of tractor. You could try the finish mower - maybe it will work OK.

Hey guys. While at the dealer I see he has a k-348-7 kubota finish mower. The gear box says 840 rpm. Is this the max rpm for this unit and will it run at 540 or is it intended for 840 ptos only? Thanks

A K-348-7 mower had a 540 gear box, I had one and my brother had one, ran them on B6100's worked well, they were made by Hesston for Kubota, heavy 1" spindles and grease able fittings, not the best finish mower, traded mine in a Woods RM400.

This one came in on trade on a b6100 actually. It is clearly marked 840 pto. I don't understand that, but if you say it didn't cut nice anyway then maybe I'll keep looking. Thanks again
