Yes and No,
Any Cat 1 implement of the right weight and HP requirements will work.
You have to watch the weight as the L1501 has about the same lift as a large B.
And with HP your on the low end of things.
You might be able to lift a 6 foot 500lb brush Hog but your not going to be able to run it.

Like wolfman said. Ya gotta watch the size of the attachment. They handle a four foot bush hog and a 5" finish mower with ease. If the grass is tall or really thick brush, then you'll have to go a little slower. If you have a 2wd model or don't have a fel, you'll need to add a couple hunded pounds to the front, to keep the tires on the ground. If not, it will be a wheelie popper for sure  I have around 300lbs on the front of mine and it handles the bush hog a lot better on hills and when loading on the trailer.
You do have a great model for tilling. Drop her into creeper mode and you should be able to have it ground to powder in one pass. Might take you twenty minutes to reach the other side of the garden though :D

Oh, one other thing. If you do decide to do some bush hogging with it. Do yourself a favor and get an over running coupler to attach to the end of the pto shaft. Pto shaft is direct drive on that model so it will push you till the bush hog winds down if you don't have one installed. ;)

Here's a link to what an over running clutch is. It attaches to the pto shaft on the back of the tractor. When you push in the clutch while using the pto, the over running clutch will slip allowing the implement to keep spinning. It also allows you to stop :D before I installed one on mine, I almost cleaned out a fence post cause the bush hog was still spinning, causing the transmission to still turn over

McLure BC, I love that part of the world!

My boys played a whole lot of fastball in Barrier. I have spent about 5 days a year at Hihuim lake every year since we tied my 22 year old son in a tree in a jolly jumper and called him bear bait. Lol I think he was about 6 months old at the time.

The store at Little Fort has taken a pile of my money for fuel, ice, beer and Subway samachies.

The fly shop is the best ever! It has further sucked my wallet dry!

Crap this is a tractor forum. Probably quite a few Kubotas in those hills and ranches?

I apologize for divesting!

I have been using that type of pto im various machines over the years,i pay attention to my surroundings and if it gets out of hand i nudge transmission into neutral. I dont reccomend this on hills and rough areas.

That pto running over doings work well with a tiller? I don't have enough seat time on mine to know if it has what I would call a double clutch, meaning that if you push the clutch in a little the tractor will stop moving forward but the pto will keep turning?

My old Ford 8N is either on or off.

Haha no worries! I moved to Kamloops 7 years ago hoping to one day get property. Last spring we made it happen with a small acreage on the river. Naturally a tractor was next :) I see you have a 1500, what kind of tiller are you using?

thnx Dan

for 50$ this seems like it would be a bit of an insurance policy not to mention added safety.

Yes sir. I personally like to stop as soon as I push in the clutch :D If your just gonna till with it, it's not a big deal. They don't store any energy like the bush hogs do. If you do decide to install one, you'll probably have to shorten the pto shaft by about 4". But a saws all and good metal blade makes quick work of it.

No an overrunning clutch does not do a thing for you with a tiller, no momentum to the blades.
Highly unlikely that your L1500 has a 2 stage clutch, also referred to as a live clutch. ;)

Thanks for the clarification NIW. That's kind of what I thought.

Dan I have the Kubota tiller that probably attached to it in the rice paddy. It my understanding that was this tractors purpose in life.

I honestly thought the overrunning clutch was more money than that, but no stocking dealers nearby. Will see if i can special order.

so new problem......

this tractor does not have a water pump. my mind is blown, how is this possible? I feel like im going to destroy the engine!
Works off what they call a thermal siphon system. The cooler water in the radiator is more dense then the hot water in the engine. It circulates the water using this principle. Cooler water pushes it's way into the bottom of the engine and pushes the hot water back into the top of the radiator. Just make sure and keep the radiator fins clean and you shouldn't have any issues. I had to Google "thermal siphon" in order to understand how it worked

It's not a problem, it's called a thermo siphon system, they used it for years with excellent results. ;)
