Its definetly the dash one. Steering shaft stays rigid, and dash oscillates around it. But for 50plus dollars im going to visit the body shop and grab a part tube of urethane and see if i can get creative. A little saran wrap to keep it from sticking to dash and pump it in. Grommet looks perfect from top.

Will do.
Sitting here thinking about making a Mold.
Did a little digging, an old acquaintance of mine distributes smooth-on casting products. Might drop him a line.

Had to break down and order that bushing between the steering column and dash. Wow!!! Talk about some sticker shock. They have doubled the price of the bushing  I was left feeling like they should have tossed in some cuddle time or smootching with the purchase  103$ with standard shipping :eek:

Maybe I am confused, I looked at the L175 Parts List and saw 2 numbers
031 part # 34150-16850
031 part # 34150-16852

For different serial numbers and I ordered the # 34150-16852 from my Kubota dealer,
Invoice states;
Item/Tag Type Description Price
34150-16852 PA KUB-RING, RUBBER $16.92

I hope you paid $103 for something else :(

They have different parts listed between the l175 and l185 manuals.

I found out after the earlier post from a couple years ago, my tractor is closer the the l185.

In that manual they have a bushing that goes between the steering column and dash. And is shaped like the one that gave up the ghost.

Number 41 in the l185 manual for the steering column drawing.

Part number 37150-16850 Post holder, retails for 94.10

Shipped today, so should be able to post a picture by friday.

Trust me, I sure like your price better, guess we'll find out soon enough. Can you post a picture of the ring when you get it?

Ok, I was confused,
I just looked at the 185 Parts List.

Mine was a simple large rubber grommet yours looks quite involved based on the diagram in the Parts List.

So, I'm curious how this trim ring is supposed to lock the dash to the steering column.

I'm either missing something or got run through the coals :confused:

Oops, never mind. Goes around steering column then dash drops down over the top with circular portion squeezed into the circular portion of dash

That just rubber, that's an expensive piece of rubber!

I agree. I lost my s##t when I opened the box. First thing I thought, was that I was missing part of it

On a side note, I've had the hood stickers for a couple weeks :)

That tractor is way to shiny! Especially the tranny, get that thing dirty, greasy and muddy.

I can't wait to give my girl a spring bath but she will never be shiny again.

That is a NICE job, looks great. I agree, keep the birds away from that!
Curious, is that a stock fuse holder? You do not have the metal filament fuses?
Fuse holder is stock. They changed it to the bus fuses when they came out with the new models. :D

Daren, i think you put it wrong,
it goes up from the instrument panel.
Do you mean it just slides down over the top of everything? If that's the case, I'll leave it as it sits. At least the dash stays put instead if shaking side to side like it did before :D
