Hi all, having blow-by issues with my l1500, considering installing +.5 oversize pistons. Having trouble finding them for the Z750 engine, does any one know if other engines have same pistons which will fit? supplier recommendations.

Regards

See this thread. Somewhere is a cross reference between the models.

I remember the L1500 is similar to the L175 or L185 but can’t recall which one.

Thanks for the replies, I have a full rebuild kit planned in several months but i wanted to keep it running for about a month or so to finish off weed spraying, it has a purpose built undervine weed sprayer fitted. I thought a quick overnight repair to fit oversize pistons or even oversize rings on original pistons after a quick hone by just removing the conrods, head etc it would last the distance rather having it off line for about 2 weeks for the rebuild. I didnt realize the amount of blowby until i removed the drain plug under the flywheel and oil dripped out.

That's NOT blow by, that could be a bad rear main seal if it's in fact motor oil, oil in the bellhousing could be hydraulic fluid from a leaking trans seals.
