L1500 fuses

The only things that still work are the glow plugs and starter. I can visibly see that one of the strands of the 10 amp fuse is loose.
1) What does the availability of these fuses look like? Is my local dealer likely to have them in stock? Might they be available at Napa?
2) Does anyone know what the 10 amp fuse supplies? Wondering if a new fuse might fix the charging and oil lights.

There are four fuses. Two are involved in the headlights lights only

The other two are involved with protection of the key switch wiring.

Forgot to answer your question about availability.

I don’t think the wire type fuses are available. You may be able to find fuse wire to use but I have never seen it.

You could buy a newer fuse block from the L185 that uses the glass tube automotive fuses. The part number is 34150-33600

I think you could get the newer fuse holders and put the wires across the existing fuse connection points. I don’t know if there is enough room to fit four under the cover though. there are panel mount fuse holders that could work with more work inside the fuse box.

Too bad about the availability. I only have 3 fuses. 2 5s and a 10. I'll probably swing by the dealership on the way home anyway and see if they can get the L185 box. Might try to find a generic one.

I do have a WSM for an L175. It didn't occur to me to look there for some reason.

Are you sure about that part number, Russell? I went to the dealer and he said it was for an L175, which is fine and actually preferred if it's for standard style fuses. There's one left in the U.S according to the parts guy.

In other news, the warning lights started working again. The headlights and markers have never worked as long as I've had it so they probably run off the 10 amp fuse.

I still have the ones I installed after the restoration.
But not to caught off guard, this was my solution based on the costs!......

I'll probably order the one for the L175 next time I get to the dealer. I'd do Bill's conversion if I wasn't missing the cover. Might change my mind and go that route anyway. The warning lights starter glow plugs and alternator all work so I feel better about using it again.
