Does anyone know if one of the other L series tractor steering boxes will fit an L235. have failed to find a replacement. Thanks.

Welcome to OTT Sgriff. Do not know about the L235, but I would really check it out as the type of steering is different from the L3200.

thanks mickeyd, I am hoping that maybe an L245 will fit. I think that I can get one of those. the L235s just aren't available.

I can tell you this, a L245 will not fit it.
It should be a L275 or L305.
But will need more info to narrow it down, like:
Power Steering?
2wd or 4wd?

You can go to kubota.com and they have a section on parts diagrams. You can compare the two tractors parts numbers and see if they share the same parts. You could also go down one size model and check

I called Kubota and was told that the original steering box is no longer available. They had a replacement but it also has been discontinued also. It actually started with the shaft in mine broke, that was discontinued so that's when I decided to replace the entire box. It is a 2WD with manual steering. But I have drawn a big fat zero on finding even a used one. I'll keep looking, it is a little work horse for a tractor. Thanks again for all of the input it is great to be able to lean on some one else's knowledge out there.

Well after some research I found something odd.
None of the other tractors have the same case....
But Low and behold a B8200 uses the same shaft, as do a ton of other tractors.

Not sure if this pertains to the conversation as I am unclear what you really need to replace with your steering but if you need the steering shaft I replaced one on my uncles B8200 with this shaft from Kumar Bros USA http://www.ebay.com/itm/191477858614?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
