Leafy England....
hi all
I have made a spot descision to add a second kubota to my machine collection.
I think it will probably have to be an earlyish "L" series , something like an L1500 or 175 or similar, nothing to big but bigger than our b6000.
it needs to be 4wd version also.
what would the best version be that i should lookout for, also what problems might i encounter etc.
lookforward to some help on this guys.
thanks
rob

I've been running an L185 (2WD) since 1998.

The biggest problem so far was the governer (speed control) went sour fairly soon after I bought it. Since then, the engine and transmissions have been absolutely trouble-free!

The tractor is stored outside in the Northeastern U.S. so the contacts inside the starter solinoid are cruddy and the ignition switch sometimes does not go fully "off" even with the key removed.

My biggest complaint has been with it's ability to put it's power into the ground. But, let's face it, turf tires and 2 wheel drive are NOT for driving through the Spring mud!

I've got 4 Diesel tractors built by 4 different companies from 1965 to 1993. Once I worked out the previous owner's neglect, the Kubota has been the most dependable of the bunch!
