I'm not sure what the second spring on the back of your drawing does????

You the man spring on left side is to pull the rack pin back when the throttle is backed off

This is perfect, exactly what I needed. Looks like the spring number 5 (start spring) as well as the spring on the left (not in this picture) are not connected.

Can't believe the mechanic who installed the pump didn't do it.

You will need to pull the 4 bolts, or nuts that bolt number 2 to the motor to access the spot where spring number one hooks to the crank case cover. An angled pair of needle nose pliers makes quick work of hooking the spring back up. It's a bit awkward getting the spring in place. I'll get you a pic of where the last spring hooks up, when i get home tonight

I was mistaken on the spring on the left, it's in there for a bump stop and isn't hooked to any thing

Ok , to get to spring number 5 you need to remove the 4 nuts on number 2

And spring number 5 ties in at the round spot on the front cover in this pick by the tach cable

Thanks, that spring on the left is what I have, it looks like it's there to stop the rack pin.
