Here is the FTW area, folks don't know what tire chains are. We are happy it has cooled off. We have two seasons, summer and nothot. Keep us posted.
I used to live in Fort Worth near Alliance Airport. if it's one thing I recall very clearly is the smok'n hot summer and the next day ice storm freezing winters. Southern California is quite nice
Oh come on now, you know you get ice and occasional snow. Of course the snow doesn't last long but it happens. Heck, we even had snow down here in the Houston area last year. You folks up north, I don't know how you deal with the winters; of course the "cool" summers must be nice.
Only reason I'd have for tire chains is to help deal with mud.

bikerdib, I was kidding of course about the tire chains and we do get snow and ice occasionally. Last year we got a record 14". The problem is that a lot of folks don't know how to drive on snow/ice. It makes for an interesting commute and it best to stay home.

Yep, and I was kidding back at ya'. You think people up there don't know how to drive on ice or snow; you should see the mayhem down here in Houston when it happens.

I agree. Mayhem is a good description. I had to get out in it to come to work when we had ice last year. I was sure glad they had put sturdy guardrails on over passes because I watched a pickup that was going too fast above me doing donuts as he went across the bridge. He finally crashed into one side and came to a stop. I could just see him going through the guardrail and landing in the lane in from of me.
