Good morning everyone !
With spring almost here ( I say that because we had snow overnight, and a possible snowstorm coming in later this week )
I'm planning on removing my snowblower attachment from my BX2380 and wonder what any of you suggest to use on the built up
oily grime on the snow blower attachment. ( my snow blower is the Kubota BX2822 )

Also, with use, the Kubota paint gets rubbed off the center of the front of the snow blower attachment where all the snow gets pushed into
that large impeller area. My blower is brand new, but I now see the bare metal in a few areas, and wonder what you suggest to put on it to
keep rust from starting in those areas. ( do I use a white spray grease ... and spray those areas ? ) etc.....

For grime removal, I'm not sure what to use. It can't be as simple as soap and warm water and a brush can it ? or is there something you can spray
on to help the grime removal process ... thanks everyone ! :)

I wash my blower before it comes off, wiping heavy grease off with rags first. then lube all the zirc fittings, chain lube the chain. My local tractor supply house sells Kubota orange, by the quart, gallon and aerosol. Once the impeller area is clean and dry, the aerosol does a fantastic job of coating all the bare metal. ( with the driveshaft disconnected, you can spin it by hand)
Yes, it’s a wear point, and will keep wearing off. I have more paint!

4,000psi pressure washer will do the trick. Avoid your seals/chain and grease liberally afterwards to drive out any moisture. Let it sit in the sun to dry out completely before greasing and parking.

Honestly, I service my machine in spring as per the manufacturer, soak the entire thing (but especially the bare metal spots) in Krown rust proofing or fluid film rust inhibitor, cover with 7-mil plastic on a skid, shove the blower in the fence row and don't even think about it until fall. It's worked great for me!

Good luck,

- James

All good suggestions, however, no one has suggested checking the lower cutting edge at the back of the blower, where it meets the ground, or the shoes on the sides. Those are wear item, and have to be replaced if they are severely worn from use. The cutting edge can be turned over to get additional wear out of it, but you should buy a spare at the same time you turn it over, so you will have one ready for the next time. Also purchase the bolts and nuts that hold it on. Have spare shear pins also. The most expensive wear item on the blower is the chain, so make sure that it is always lubed and properly adjusted.

And as chains go, I picked up a 10’ roll of chain and 5 master links for about the same as one chain cut to the correct length. It’s easy to cut a link to length.
