I have a Kubota RTV 900 on my property that I drive around when I'm out there checking the fence. Since I bought it (used), it would start up, idle down, and shut off after maybe 3-5 seconds of running. I start it up again, and it fires up but immediately dies. On the 3rf try, I just keep the key turned as it starts and turns until it eventually fires up (30-45 seconds). After driving it around for a little bit, it'll fire up after I shut it off, but if it stays turned off for a few days, I'll have to repeat the process. During the warmer days, it's easier to start, but on colder days, it's near impossible

Any ideas of where to start? The fuel filter is good, fluids and filters are clean. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks y’all

Check to see that the fuel shut-off solenoid is returning to the RUN position after the engine is shut off. It should return within 5 to 8 seconds after the key is turned OFF.
If the shut-off is working, it is either your fuel lift pump is weak or the fuel flow to the lift pump is restricted.

Had same problems with my rtv900xt. First thing, it would start up and then cut off. Try to restart but wouldn't. try again and sometimes it would start but cutoff again. It acted like it wasn't getting enough fuel. This kept up for several months so I installed a new fuel pump and problem fixed. Starts first time and every time now. The old pump must have been getting to week to pump enough fuel to start and keep running but after it finally did start and kelp running, it seemed ok. So go figure???
