I am looking to add an hydraulic thumb to my 2016 BH92. I've found a small fabricator that makes thumbs and is half the price of Kubota. The question I am trying to answer before pulling the trigger on my order relates to the main pin size. 1 1/2inch or 40mm? Any help is much appreciated.

If you have access to a caliper, measure it yourself and make sure its exactly what you expect. I know the front pins on many Kubota loaders are 25mm which is pretty much a perfect match for a 1" pin....very little difference. By the time the machine wears in a little, you'd never know the difference.

25mm is exactly 1 inch 25mm is the same as 2.5 cm
Exactly is a relative term in this case.
25mm is actually .98425197, 25.4mm is 1.0000.
Certainly close enough for backhoe pins, but not close when you have worked to tolerances in millionths of an inch.

1.0000 One Inch
.1000 One Hundred Thousandths
.010 Ten Thousandths
.001 One Thousandth
.0001 One Tenth (One Ten thousandth)
.00001 Ten Millionths
.000001 One Millionth
.000001 Inches = 1 Microinch
.0002 = 200 Millionths
Micro inches and Millionths are interchangeable

Sorry, it's the Research Technician/Toolmaker in me; I'm a pain in the a$$, even for myself sometimes.:)

At one time, US and English inches were different millimeters. Something like 25.4000004 for the US one, but we changed to the British definition of an inch.

Not sure about all models, but my old B7100 is all metric, but the FEL & Backhoe are US made, & therefore not metric.
