Hey everyone,

Quick question I have a friend with a 2015 Kubota mx5200 that is not starting and is displaying a code E20 on the instrument cluster. We called Our local Kubota dealer and they will not help with suggestions over the phone and they are 3-4 weeks out to look at it so....we are kind of screwed. I have checked over the harnesses and see nothing unplugged or damaged.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I did a bit of surfing. You can check the manual for a possible listing of error codes. You can also look for a broken or disconnected sensor on the right side of the transmission. That's all I've found from the little research I've done but feel free to surf.

When this code is set, Diagmaster must be connected to retrieve any past and or present DTC codes.

Refer to the WSM 9Y11109741 for the DTC list of codes normally P0605 & P0606 are related to a Code 20.
Also refer to the Diagnostic Manual 9Y11002421 for specific troubleshooting information.

Be sure to check the Engine (Main) Relay and fuses supplying voltage tinputs to the engine ECU.

If the E-20 code does not go away after recycling the key switch and ECU inputs are normal the ECU may be defective and will have to be replaced.

Re: Kubota 5200 no crank.

Thankyou both for your responses. I have done some searching and found nothing really helpful. I did check the sensor on the side of the transmission. It is plugged in and seems ok. Im not sure what that sensor does though it only has 1 wire so im assuming an idiot light of some sort?

THankyou again.

I have ran into the E20 code twice on L tractors (the MX use the same ecu as the L) Both times it turned out that the ECU had failed and needed replacing. Also both times the battery had been run down and the owner used booster cables to try starting it. The ECU is part of the emissions package so should fall under the extended waranty for emissions related parts.
