I have a lx2610 with 580 hr I need to change out front axle fluid can I use a alternative to UDT2.
Looks can be deceiving. The viscosity of SUDT2 is the same as SAE 80 gear oil. Thanks seams like a big weight difference
Did you read the thread? Post #2:Before buying oil, check the front axle fluid specification in the LX2610 operator’s manual. Kubota UDT2 is the safe choice, but any alternative should be specifically approved for that axle application. “Universal” or “UDT compatible” on the label is not enough.
1. Use Kubota fluid or an equivalent that explicitly meets the manual’s requirement. An unapproved substitute may reduce lubrication protection and damage axle components.
2. Drain a small sample. Clear oil is normal. Milky oil, water, metal glitter, or other debris means stop and investigate before refilling, or have a technician assess it.
3. Park the tractor level and refill only to the specified level.
